What is a bird ingestion?
Bird ingestion is the process by which a bird consumes food. Birds have a variety of adaptations that allow them to eat a wide variety of foods, including insects, seeds, fruits, and even small animals. Some birds, such as hummingbirds, have long, thin beaks that allow them to reach deep into flowers to drink nectar. Others, such as hawks and eagles, have sharp, hooked beaks that they use to tear flesh from their prey. Birds also have a special organ called a crop that stores food and helps to break it down.
