Why is the bald eagle an endangered spices?
The bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is not currently an endangered species. Although the bald eagle was previously listed as endangered due to habitat destruction, hunting, and the effects of pesticides like DDT, conservation efforts have led to a significant population recovery. In 2007, the bald eagle was removed from the US Federal List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants, and its conservation status is now listed as "least concern" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
