Instructions

    • 1

Watch the baby blue jay to see if it is having problems and needs further help. It may just be a matter of time, before it goes back to its natural setting with its parents. If the bird needs obvious help, there are steps that you can utilize, until there is a need for further assistance. It may be necessary to contact a wildlife official to come pick up the bird.

    • 2

Put the blue jay gently back in its nest, if it can be found. If not, place it underneath a bush for the bird's safety. Be careful to keep pets away from it. It could be put in a little box with a light covering on top for protection.

    • 3

Place a heating pad on the lowest setting with a towel covering it, over the bird to keep it warm -- if it seems to be in physical distress.

    • 4

Feed the blue jay peanuts, acorns, berries, seeds, beechnuts or pieces of vegetables.
