Where does a hawk get energy?
Hawks obtain energy primarily through the consumption of small mammals and other animals such as mice, voles, squirrels, rabbits, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects. When hawks hunt, they use their sharp talons to capture and kill their prey, and then use their beaks to tear the flesh and ingest it. The energy stored in the prey is transferred to the hawk, providing the necessary sustenance for the bird's bodily functions and activities, including flight, hunting, and survival in its natural environment.
