Fruits and vegetables are an easy food to feed your lorikeet, as you can sometimes feed your pet the very food you're already preparing for yourself. Lories enjoy fruit like pears, mango and cantaloupe, and vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, carrots and sweet potatoes. These foods are often recommended by vets.
Sprouts

Seeds that have just sprouted are soft enough for the lorikeet to eat and digest and offer plenty of nutrition for the bird, like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, enzymes and proteins. Some seeds to purchase for you lorie include sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, mung beans, lentils, corn and wheat berries.
Nectar

Nectar is a supplement that can be added to your lorikeet's diet to mimic the nectar he would get from eating plants if he lived out in the wild. Nectar must be purchased from pet shops and can be fed to your bird in powder or liquid form. The nectar is meant to keep your bird healthier and help him live longer.
Water

You must not forget the importance of water in your lorie's diet. Lorikeet's need a steady supply of water to drink daily, and you can keep a water supply in the bird's cage either from a bottle that releases a drip, or in a small bowl. The lorie doesn't just drink this water, he will also use drops of it to keep himself clean.
