How to Build Your Own Hexagon Bird Feeder

The beauty of any garden lies in the chirping sound of the birds and the colorful butterflies floating around the flowers. Placing a bird feeder attracts birds into the garden. Both domestic birds and wild birds flock to places where they get food. Hanging four or five bird feeders in your garden will definitely bring in a lot of flying beauties to your garden. Hang the bird feeders from the trees or window sill rather than mounting them on the stands. Make the bird feeder out of plastic or wood for longer durability.

Instructions

    • 1

Take a square plywood piece approximately 10-inch long and wide. Draw a hexagon in the board with a sketch pencil. Cut out the edges of the square and make it a hexagon.

    • 2

Take six quarter-inch thick cedar pieces and cut them at 30 degrees at the ends. They make the frame of the bird feeder. Stick them on the edges of the plywood hexagon with super glue. Nail them to make it stronger.

    • 3

Stick cake pillars to each corner of the hexagon with super glue. Attach a plastic plate slightly wider than the plywood sheet to the top. Glue the pillars to the straw plate.

    • 4

If you don't have a straw plate, use an inverted straw fruit basket. Attach small strings to the fruit basket and tie them to each pillar.

    • 5

Make a loop with a strong rope. Attach a small steel ring to the back of the basket. Tie the rope to the ring.

    • 6

Hang the bird feeder in tree branches. Fill them with seeds and grains. Birds will start perching on them in a few days.

    • 7

Fill them every day. This feeder can be placed on the window sill. Place a small cup of water on the bird feeder.
