Instructions

    • 1

Pick out a place in your garden to mount the bird feeder. Pick a place away from trees (at least 10 feet away). This will prevent any squirrels from jumping onto the bird feeder.

    • 2

You will first have to make the platform. Use the marker pen to draw a rectangle measuring 12 x 18 inches on the wooden board.

    • 3

Cut out the rectangle from the rest of the board using the power saw. Take care not to waste any more wood than necessary since you will need the rest of the board to construct other parts of the feeder.

    • 4

Draw two rectangles on the board of wood, each measuring ½ x 12 inches. Cut out these two pieces of wood.

    • 5

Make sure that the lengths of the two pieces of wood are equal to the width of the platform. Place the two pieces of wood on opposite ends of the platform horizontally. Nail them onto the platform.

    • 6

Draw two more rectangles on the board of wood, each measuring ½ x 18 inches. Cut out these two pieces of wood.

    • 7

Place the two pieces of wood along the open ends of the platform. Nail the pieces of wood onto the platform. The four pieces of wood should now cover the platform on all four sides, forming an enclosed area in the middle of the platform.

    • 8

Sharpen the end of the pole using the power saw. Hammer the pole one foot into the ground. The pole should stand firmly.

    • 9

Place the platform on the pole so that the middle of the platform is at the center of the pole. Nail the platform onto the pole firmly. Stamp the earth around the pole to harden any soil which has loosened due to the nailing.
