Instructions

    • 1

Place an egg in a small saucepan and add enough water to cover the egg by an inch.

    • 2

Raise the heat and boil the egg for 14 minutes. Immediately move the egg to cold water and let it stay there for about five minutes. This will facilitate peeling.

    • 3

Crack the egg and peel away the shell once it is cool enough to handle. Crumble the egg as finely as possible using a sharp chef's knife.

    • 4

Grate a piece of whole wheat bread into very fine crumbs and lay in an even layer over a plate. Spray the wheat bread crumbs with water from a plastic spray bottle until they are soggy but not saturated.

    • 5

Mix the soggy wheat bread with the crumbled egg. Add 1/4 of a finely grated carrot and mix well before serving to your canary.
