Instructions

    • 1

Install a shepherd's hook in your garden area by firmly pressing the hook into the ground. Place the hook away from your house, in an area that gets a balanced amount of sun and shade. Ensure that the feeder is located at least 10 feet away from any other bird feeders.

Place the funnel in the top of the finch feeder sack. Slowly and steadily pour the thistle seed into the funnel. Stop when the feeder sack is full.

    • 3

Hang the feeder sack on the shepherds hook.

    • 4

Install the suet feeder by hanging the feeder from a secure location, either from the eaves of your house or a separate shepherds hook. Finches thrive off of the fat that suet provides, so installing a suet feeder will attract more finches to your area.
