Instructions
Clean and disinfect all supplies that will be in contact with the food or used to feed your cockatiel. A baby's immune system and organs are very fragile. Make sure to rinse disinfectant off all materials.
Choose a stage 1 baby food in either chicken, turkey, veal or beef flavor. Boil food and thin as needed. Newborns will need a very thin formula, while older baby cockatiels should be fine with the baby food consistency. Mix baby food with 1 tsp. of high quality, non-organic peanut butter in a sterilized pot. Bring to a boil and add distilled water as need to make correct consistency.
Take the food off the stove when it comes to a boil and check the temperature using a candy thermometer. The North American Cockatiel Society recommends that the formula is 102 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Now you have (emergency) baby cockatiel formula.
