Things You'll Need
- Newspaper
- Plastic container with lids
- Freezer
Instructions
Place a sheet of newspaper on a flat surface, like a countertop or workbench. This will help you gather up any feed that spills.
Place your bag of bird food onto the newspaper.
Scoop out the bird feed into a plastic container that has a tight-fitting lid.
Seal the container tightly. Label the container as "Bird Food" or some similar wording.
Place the plastic container of bird feed into your refrigerator's freezer or a free-standing freezer.
Repeat the steps above for the next batch of bird feed you to need to freeze if it doesn't all fit into one container.
Keep the feed in the freezer for at least 48 hours to kill any moths and developing moths.
