Things You'll Need
- Cookie sheet with a rim
- Large mixing bowl
- Microwavable bowl
- Mixing spoon
- ½ cup wheat germ
- ½ cup of crushed whole grain cereal
- 1 cup of chopped mixed nuts
- 1 cup millet
- 1 cup dried fruits
- 1 cup sunflower seeds without the shells
- ½ cup honey
- ½ cup peanut oil
- Oven
- Microwave
Instructions
Mix the wheat germ, mixed chopped nuts, cereal, millet, dried fruits and sunflower seeds in the large mixing bowl. Make sure you mix the seeds and other ingredient thoroughly. Set the bowl aside.
Put the honey and peanut oil in the microwavable bowl and microwave for 15 to 40 seconds, just to make it warm and easy to mix together well. Then mix it in with the bowl of previously mixed ingredients that you set aside.
Pour the mix on the cookie sheet and spread it out with the spoon. Bake in the oven for 8 to 12 minutes. Don’t let it get too brown.
Remove it from the oven and let it cool. Then break it up and put it outside to let the wild birds feast on your homemade granola.
