Instructions
Use wild bird or game bird feed that contains seed. Keep a trough of bird food available at all times so peacocks can eat when they are hungry. Keep the trough up high so that other animals cannot reach the food.
Feed them cracked corn and crumbled turkey feed. Add protein by including a bit of dry cat food. You can also add wheat to their regular feed.
Let your peacocks eat grubs and insects like grasshoppers or crickets. They will also eat some plants that grow in yards naturally like grass and flowers. They like green grass and even weeds.
Try adding fruit pieces like melon, strawberries and oranges. Peacocks also like a variety of vegetables. Use fruit and vegetables as a treat instead of the main part of the feed.
Treat peacocks with other foods like bread crumbs and bits of crackers. They may even like an occasional worm.
Talk to a vet to determine if your peacocks need extra vitamins or minerals. You can add these to the regular feed. Also, give them pieces of shell and gravel for health and digestion.
Add greens like lettuce or mixed grains, sunflower seeds and rice to the feed for a variety of different foods.
