2. Determine if the eggs are fertile. If the eggs are fertile, they may hatch into chicks, so you will need to decide whether or not you want to allow the eggs to hatch and raise the chicks. If you do not want to raise the chicks, you will need to remove the eggs from the area.
3. Remove the nest and eggs. If you decide to remove the eggs, the nest must be removed as well. This is because peafowl will continue to lay eggs in the same location as long as the nest remains.
4. Clean the area. Once the eggs and the next have been removed, the area must be thoroughly cleaned to remove any trace of the bird's scent. This will discourage future nesting.
5. Take precautions to prevent the peahen from returning. If you do not want the peahen to return, there are several precautions you can take, including:
- Removing any food sources that may be attracting the peahen, such as leftover food or birdseed
- Placing physical barriers, such as netting, around the area to prevent the peahen from entering
- Repellents, such as sprinklers or noise devices
