Things You'll Need
- Scissors
- Partner
Instructions
Have a partner hold the bird in one hand and extend the wing with the other hand. Do this as gently as possible.
Flatten the wings out as much as you can so that you can see the core of the wing. The core should be white when you are planning to cut it. If the core is red, that means the wing is still getting blood and should be left along for a few weeks.
Using sharpened scissors, cut the longest first four feathers on the wing to where they are even with the shorter inner feathers.
Repeat this on the other wing.
