Male cayuga duck accept newly hatched ducklings?
Male cayuga ducks are not known for accepting newly hatched ducklings. In fact, most male ducks, including cayugas, tend to ignore or even abandon their mates and offspring after fertilization is complete. Male ducks do not typically participate in parental care or raising of the young and play no role in incubation or nurturing of the ducklings. The primary caretaker and protector of the eggs and ducklings is the female duck.
