What is the cranes prey?
The crane's prey includes fish, frogs, aquatic invertebrates, small mammals, and birds. They typically forage in shallow waters, wading through flooded marshes and fields, probing the mud or water with their long bills. Cranes sometimes engage in cooperative hunting, with one bird flushing out prey while the others stand by to catch it. Some crane species also feed on grain and other plant material when available.
