What is the food of a burrowing owl?
The diet of the burrowing owl consists mainly of insects and small mammals found in the grasslands they inhabit, such as grasshoppers, crickets, beetles, lizards and small rodents like mice. They sometimes also feed on small birds and reptiles. While they hunt their prey on the ground, they are known to perch on fences or fence posts to get a better view of their surroundings and to spot their prey.
