What does the eastern bluebird eat for food?

The Eastern Bluebird's diet consists primarily of insects and fruit. During the nesting season, insects make up the majority of their diet. They eat beetles, grasshoppers, caterpillars, spiders, and ants, as well as flying insects such as wasps and bees. In the winter, they switch to a diet of mainly berries and fruits, such as dogwood, sumac, elderberry, and wild grape. They also feed on insects and spiders that they find under leaves and in crevices in trees.
