What kind of birds do hawks eat?

Hawks are birds of prey that typically hunt and eat smaller birds. Some of the birds that hawks eat include:

- Songbirds, such as sparrows, finches, and warblers

- Waterfowl, such as ducks and geese

- Shorebirds, such as sandpipers and plovers

- Pigeons and doves

- Crows and ravens

- Other small birds, such as blackbirds and starlings

Hawks typically hunt by soaring over open areas and then diving down on their prey. They use their sharp talons to catch and kill their prey. Some hawks also hunt by perching on a high perch and waiting for prey to come within range.
