What does the Michigan state bird eat?

The Michigan state bird, the American Robin, primarily consumes earthworms, insects, and spiders. Robins may also feed on some fruits and berries to fulfill additional dietary requirements. During the summer months, their diet usually consists of small fruits such as currants, grapes, apples, cherries, blackberries, elderberries, raspberries, gooseberries, and mulberries. During winter, as these food sources might not be readily available, Robins may also turn to seeds and nuts.
