Does a vulture kill its own food?
Vultures are scavenging birds, meaning that they don't usually kill their own food. Most vultures feed on carrion, meaning the dead bodies of animals that have already died from other causes. However, there are some vulture species that will occasionally prey on live animals, such as the Andean condor which has been known to kill large, sickly or newly born vicuña and guanacos.
