* Collisions with Windows: This is the most common cause of death for indoor birds. Birds are attracted to the reflection of light in glass windows and mirrors and often try to fly through them, resulting in a fatal collision. To prevent this, keep windows closed or use curtains or decals to deter birds from flying into them.
* Lack of Food: Birds need access to a constant supply of food, particularly fruit and seeds. Without food, birds can quickly become weak and die. If there are no suitable food sources inside, provide a bird feeder outside the window or scatter birdseed on a balcony or terrace.
* Lack of Water: Birds also require access to fresh water. Place a shallow dish of water near a bird feeder or mist plants outdoors to attract birds and provide them with a place to drink.
* Poisonous Substances: Some plants, household chemicals, and cleaning products are toxic to birds. Remove any toxic items from within the house and keep these products stored out of reach.
If you find a bird inside your house, try to safely catch it and release it outdoors as soon as possible.
