2. Gently pry the bone guard out of the turkey. Use a butter knife or other thin, blunt object to pry the bone guard up and out of the turkey. Be careful not to tear the skin.
3. Rinse the turkey. Rinse the turkey inside and out with cold water to remove any blood or debris.
4. Pat the turkey dry. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
5. The turkey is now ready to be cooked.
