How long do baby quails stay under a heat lamp for?

Quail hatchlings require supplemental heat for the first 28 days of their lives. Their brooder box temperature should be maintained at around 95°F (35°C) initially and gradually decreased by 5°F (2.7°C) per week until it reaches room temperature. Once the quail chicks have fully feathered, they can gradually be moved into the same brooder box or coop as adult quails.

Note that the quail chicks must always have access to a heat source, even if they are also under a brooder lamp, as they can become chilled and die if they do not have a way to stay warm. For this reason, the brooder box should also be placed in a draft-free area.
