- Keep the chicks warm. Baby lovebirds are very vulnerable to cold, so it is important to keep them in a warm environment. You can do this by placing a heating pad or a brooder lamp under the nest box.
- Feed the chicks. Baby lovebirds need to be fed every few hours. You can feed them a formula specifically designed for lovebirds, or you can make your own formula by mixing baby food with warm water.
- Clean the nest box. The nest box should be cleaned regularly to prevent the chicks from getting sick. You can do this by removing the old nesting material and replacing it with fresh material.
- Handle the chicks. It is important to handle the chicks regularly so that they get used to humans. This will make it easier to care for them when they are older.
- Socialize the chicks. Baby lovebirds need to be socialized with other birds and humans in order to become well-adjusted adults. You can do this by introducing them to other lovebirds and by talking to them often.
After about 4-6 weeks, the chicks will be fully feathered and ready to leave the nest. At this point, you can introduce them to a larger cage or aviary.
