What are owls fledglings?

Owl fledglings are young owls that have recently left the nest but are not yet fully independent. They are still learning to fly and hunt and rely on their parents for food and protection. Fledglings typically stay close to their nest site and may roost in the same tree as their parents. They will gradually venture further from the nest as they become more confident in their flying abilities.

Fledglings are vulnerable to predators and other dangers, so it is important to keep an eye on them if you find one. If you see a fledgling that is in distress, you can contact a wildlife rehabilitator.
