Paradise Parrots were prized as beautiful cage birds because of their gorgeous green, red, and blue feathers. Hunting played a significant role in reducing their population as they became one of the most frequently trapped parrots.
Loss of Habitat
As humans arrived in Australia about 50,000 years ago, they eventually altered the vegetation to create agricultural settings, towns, and urban areas; all these factors greatly influenced and reduced the habitat and food sources used by the Paradise Parrot.
