1) The harpy eagle is a large eagle with a wingspan of up to 2 meters (6.5 ft) and is considered one of the most powerful birds of prey in the world. Its talons can stretch up to 13 cm long and are exceptionally strong, capable of crushing the bones of its prey. Its large hooked beak is also formidable and can rip through the flesh of its victims.
2) The harpy eagle hunts during the day, mainly hunting for monkeys and other small mammals, although it has been known to hunt birds, sloths, and even small deer. The hunting style of the harpy eagle involves silent and stealthy flight through the forest canopy. It dives down rapidly and forcefully, seizing its prey with its powerful talons and crushing its bones.
