Do owl see during the day?

Owls can see during the day, but they are not as well-adapted to daylight as they are to nighttime. Owls have large eyes that are specialized for low-light conditions, and they have a special layer of cells in their retinas called the tapetum lucidum that helps to reflect light and enhance their night vision.

During the day, owls' eyes are not as sensitive to light as they are at night, and they may have difficulty seeing in bright sunlight. Additionally, owls' pupils are not able to constrict as much as those of other animals, so they may be more sensitive to glare during the day. As a result, owls tend to be more active at night when they can use their keen night vision to their advantage.
