How far do rainbow lorikeets fly?
Rainbow lorikeets ( Trichoglossus haematodus) cover long distances depending on the availability of food and suitable habitats. On average, they are known to fly distances of around 10-15 kilometers (6-9 miles) daily in search of food. However, During seasonal migrations, they can cover much greater distances, sometimes traveling hundreds to even thousands of kilometers in search of better habitat and reliable sources. This behavior is influenced by various factors such as food scarcity, climate changes, and the search for breeding sites.
