Things to Name a Parakeet

If you are struggling to think of a suitable name for your new pet parakeet, there are a number of different avenues you can explore to help you to discover the perfect name for your new friend. You may want to choose a name that has a special meaning, or alternatively you may decide to name your parakeet after your favorite celebrity.

    • Discover where your species of parakeet originated. The term parakeet refers to a variety of long-tailed parrot species. Types of parakeet are native to New Zealand, Africa and South America. Research names from the particular country of origin and choose one that you like for your parakeet.
