Place the bonded eclectus parrots into an indoor cage that measures a minimum of 70 inches tall with a floor space of 39-by-59 inches. An outdoor breeding cage should offer a shelter that measures 79 inches tall with a floor space of 39-by-39 inches. It must provide heat and cooling to the birds during adverse weather. Attach a flight that measures at least 79 inches long.

    • 2

Add two or three 1-inch-diameter perches into the cage. Provide climbing branches that also vary in diameter size.

    • 3

    • 4

Attach a nest box to the side of the cage that measures 24 inches tall by 12 inches wide and 12 inches deep. Mount the next box as high as possible to the side of the cage.

    • 5

Place large pine shavings into the nest box. Use only shavings that have not been chemically treated.

    • 6

Provide fresh water and food daily for the eclectus pair. Feed fresh sprouts and hard boiled eggs with shells. The birds enjoy fresh vegetables and fruit. Provide a well-balanced commercial parrot pellet food. Place a cuttle bone or calcium mineral bird block in the cage to provide the pair with calcium.
