Instructions
Build A Scarecrow
Hammer the 6-foot wooden stake or pole into the ground. Secure the 4 -oot cross pole about 6 inches below the top of the 6-foot pole by holding the cross pole up perpendicular to the original pole and wrapping duct tape around the vertices in an alternating fashion until it is secure.
Pull the long sleeve shirt over the poles as if you were dressing a person and button the shirt up. Use the duct tape to close up the bottom of the shirt at the pole so you can put stuffing in the shirt. Insert the stuffing (hay, newspaper, old clothes or cotton stuffing will work) through the top of the shirt and fill it throughout including the arms.
Button the shirt up to the top button and hang the hat over the top of the pole.
Create Visual Repellents
Make small holes in the pie tins to fit string through or use old CDs. Pull the string through the pie tins or old CDs. Hang these visual repellents around the area where you don't want the birds.
Place fake owls around the area from which you would like to repel birds. Move the owls around every week or so to keep the smart birds on their toes.
See a local home and garden center for bird repelling balloons. Hang the balloons in areas of bird concentration to scare away the birds. Move the balloons around to keep the smart birds on their toes.
Adopt, purchase, or borrow a dog to roam your bird-ridden property. Dogs are live threats that birds cannot figure out, like fake owls or bird-repelling balloons, and will scare birds off the property as they come.
