Is the owl a bad omen according to Hindu mythology?
The Owl in Hindu mythology is not always considered a bad omen. Its association with wisdom and knowledge sometimes makes it a symbol of prosperity and growth while at times it is considered inauspicious. Owls are usually associated with Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati. Both of these goddesses are auspicious goddesses and Goddess Saraswati is the patron goddess of all types of knowledge and Goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth and prosperity.
