What is sound called?
Sound is a wave or vibration that propagates as an acoustic wave through a medium such as air, liquid or solid. Sound can be described in terms of several basic characteristics, including its frequency, intensity and timbre. Frequency is the number of cycles of a sound wave that occur in a given amount of time, and it is measured in hertz (Hz). Intensity is the power of a sound wave, and it is measured in decibels (dB). Timbre is the distinctive quality of a sound that allows us to distinguish between different sounds, even when they have the same frequency and intensity.
