What does a storks beak look like?

Storks have long, straight, pointed beaks that are specially adapted for catching fish and other small prey.

- The *upper mandible*, which is the top part of the beak, is slightly longer and more pointed than the *lower mandible*.

- The *tips of both mandibles* are curved inwards and serrated, which helps the stork grip and hold onto its prey.

- The *base of the beak* is also broad and strong, which gives the stork the power to crush the shells of mollusks and other hard-shelled animals.
