Do geese fly non stop during migration?

Geese do not always fly non-stop during migration. While they are capable of flying for long distances without rest, they often make stops along their journey to rest, feed, and replenish their energy. These stopovers can vary in length from a few hours to several days, depending on the species of geese and the availability of suitable habitat.

The distance geese travel during migration can also vary considerably. Some species, such as the snow goose, may travel over 5,000 kilometers (3,100 miles) during their annual migration. Others, such as the Canada goose, may only travel a few hundred kilometers.
