What is a turkey lobe?

In poultry science, a lobe refers to a flap or section of flesh hanging from the body. Turkeys have two lobes: the breast lobe and the leg quarter. The breast lobe is the primary source of white meat, while the leg quarter is the primary source of dark meat. The breast lobe is composed of the pectoral muscles, which are responsible for moving the wings. The leg quarter is composed of the thigh, drumstick, and thigh bone. The thigh is the largest muscle in the turkey and is responsible for moving the leg. The drumstick is the lower part of the leg and is responsible for supporting the body.
