What is the life span of a pelican?
Pelicans have an average lifespan of 15 to 25 years in the wild, but some species have been known to live for up to 50 years in captivity. The oldest known pelican was a Great White Pelican named "Punch", who lived at the London Zoo for 63 years. Pelicans are vulnerable to a variety of threats in the wild, including hunting, habitat destruction, and pollution, which can contribute to their lifespan being shorter than the maximum potential.
