What are the mating habits of aye-aye?
Aye-ayes are monogamous and may mate for life, but some practice polygamy. Males use scent-marking and vocalizations to attract females. After a gestation period of about 170 days, the female aye-aye gives birth to a single offspring, which is born with a full coat of fur and its eyes open. The young are carried in their mother's arms until 14-16 weeks of age; they are suckled for six to eight months. Aye-ayes reach sexual maturity at about two years of age and can live up to 25 years in captivity.
