What are four ways to describe an organism?

1. Structure

The way an organism is built. For example, a human has two arms, two legs, a head, and a torso.

2. Function

What an organism does. For example, a human can walk, talk, and think.

3. Adaptation

A feature that helps an organism survive in its environment. For example, a polar bear has a thick coat of fur that helps it stay warm in the Arctic.

4. Habitat

The place where an organism lives. For example, a polar bear lives in the Arctic.
