How far does a burowing owlet fly?

Burrowing owls ( Athene cunicularia) are not known for long-distance flights. They are adapted to live in burrows and typically make short flights between their burrows and nearby perches.

The burrowing owl's flight is characterized by its low, fluttering pattern. They may fly up to a few hundred yards or meters to hunt or move between burrows, but they generally stay within a limited area. Their primary mode of movement is walking or running on the ground.
