How do owls sleep?
Owls sleep by perching on one leg, tucking their head under their wing, and closing one eye at a time. This allows them to stay alert and responsive to their surroundings while they sleep. They can rotate their head up to 270 degrees, meaning that they can see out of the wing they are not using to cover their eyes. When an owl is sleeping, it is not in REM sleep, so they are able to wake up quickly if needed.
