With their vivid yellows, reds, oranges and greens, mature sun conures are magnificent to see in flight. When young, their coloring mainly consists of shades of green, protecting them from predators.
Personality

Sun conures are very loving and bond strongly with their owners. This can be a problem when they don't get enough attention, however, as they will use an ear-piercing whistle to get you to notice them.
Lifespan

Like most of the parrots their size, sun conures have a lifespan of between 25 and 30 years.
Habitat

Sun conures can be found in savannahs, forests and palm groves. They can typically be found in the northeastern regions of South America.
Diet

Sun conures typically eat cereal grains, various fruits and vegetable greens. In captivity, they will eat parrot mixture foods.

In the wild, sun conures live in flocks, bonding strongly with one another.
