Instructions

    • 1

Decide what type of breed you want to raise. India Blue peacocks are the most common and least expensive to buy. Green Peacocks are rare and cost more but will bring you more of a profit.

    • 2

Construct a covered shelter for the young birds. This can be as simple as attaching a tarp to four poles. Peacocks like to walk around and do not like to stay in one place for long, although once they establish their home they will not wander far. Place the shelter in a field or other grassy location to give the birds easy access to greens and grains.

    • 3

Purchase the peacocks as chicks, rather than as eggs, for a higher survival rate.

    • 4

Feed the peacocks mixed grains, game bird crumbles (available at pet stores) and greens.

    • 5

Peacocks are fully grown when they are three years old. They can be sold as pets or to petting zoos and other commercial businesses.
