In what habitat would you find a heron?
Herons are wading birds that are typically found in shallow waters near lakes, rivers, marshes, and swamps. They prefer to inhabit areas with plenty of vegetation, such as reeds, rushes, and cattails. Herons are able to stand in the water and wait patiently for prey to come by. They will then use their long necks and beaks to spear their prey. Herons are also found in coastal habitats, such as mangrove swamps and estuaries, where they can find an abundance of food.
