Parrots are sexually reproducing animals. Males and females must mate in order to produce offspring. The male will transfer sperm to the female, which will then fertilize the eggs. The eggs are then incubated by the female for a period of time, which varies depending on the species of parrot. Once the eggs hatch, the young parrots, or chicks, are born.
Parrot chicks are born with feathers but they are not able to fly. They are also completely dependent on their parents for food and shelter. As they grow, they will gradually learn to fly and will become more independent.
