Why are female Snowy Owls heavier than male Owls?

This statement is not entirely accurate. While female Snowy Owls tend to be larger than male Snowy Owls, the difference in weight is not significant.

On average, female Snowy Owls weigh between 2.5 to 3.2 kilograms (5.5 to 7 pounds), while male Snowy Owls weigh between 2.0 to 2.7 kilograms (4.4 to 6 pounds). Although females may be slightly heavier, the difference in weight is not substantial and can vary among individual owls.
