Are there bald eagles in Europe?

Yes, there are bald eagles in Europe, but they are only found in Iceland and Scotland. They are not native to these regions, and their presence there is the result of human intervention. Bald eagles were introduced to Iceland in the 1960s in an effort to control the population of ptarmigan, a type of grouse that was considered to be a pest. They were introduced to Scotland in the 1970s for similar reasons. Today, there are approximately 80 bald eagles in Iceland and 120 in Scotland.
